Why did my donation fail?

Donations fail for any number of reasons and these are determined by the donor's card company, not Continue to Give.  We provide the message just as the company returns it, but some of the most common reasons are: 
  • Typo in the card number, bank routing # (ACH transactions), etc
  • Transaction was flagged as possibly fraudulent
  • Insufficient funds
  • Expired card
To understand your failed transaction, first check the emailed receipt.   A short explanation of why your credit, debit, or ACH donation was rejected will display in RED.  If it is still unclear, the donor should contact the bank/card issuer directly and make an inquiry.
